I read some glib nonsense by a resident liberal of pinkish hue (why are there so many of these Iranian types in the US?) in the "other" site about Maryam Namazi's nude protest-art (cauppucino warrior galore elevating to art status now - most deserving of the Order of the Brown Nose) and you have seen the recent blogs about dignity which at first did not make sense till you realized the blogger's objection to pompous old farts' views on nudity. Then today I saw a clip on the news about Zahra Shokouhi(*) the first female butcher in Iran.
A picture speaks louder than a 1000 words?
(*) In this Tuesday, March 11, 2014 photo, butcher Zahra Shokouhi, left, cuts meat for a customer in her shop in downtown Tehran, Iran. Shokouhi, 45, a mother of three girls, learned butchery - a job held traditionally by men in Iranian society - from her husband and by working alongside him. She has surprised many passers-by in the last twelve years while working as a butcher in their shop next to a mosque in a conservative district in south of Tehran. (AP Photo/Ebrahim Noroozi)
Let see, a butcher, who if she had a choice will be doing something else or an obnoxious lady, with a mid age crisis with a desperate need for Brazailian wax? I would say neither!
Since islamo facists rise to power in 1979, the standards of everything in Iran has litterally been lowered so much that any normal routines are now considered a progress. Not too long a go every one was impressed with a lady bus driver in Tehran!
I hate to look in the past how about Ms. farokhrou parsa who did so much for women's lib by educating them and in the end paying a heavy price for her action but then again that was from the era that standards were much higher.
...a woman butcher in an oppressive society "guided" by the forced "teachings" that originate from a bunch of savage bedouin desert bandits.
I take the lady who needs a wax as the one with balls much bigger than most men!
Agree with the above comments: the "first" female butcher is a step forward in the year 2014?! You gotta love Islamist standards :-)
As a vegan, I simply cannot respect a butcher...period! So, I will have to go with Namazi--if these are the only two choices.
As a woman, I selected option C! Why? Because, both of these women display their meats! The first one displays her own and the latter one displays a sheep's!
