Trump said “obliterate” not “annihilate.” Hilary Clinton said it first.
And four decades ago, Ayatollah Khomeini said “The Zionist regime(Israel) should be wiped off the face of the earth.” Then, Ahmadinejad quoted the Imam. But before that, came shouts of “Death to America.”And even before these good Iranians began to enjoy the melody of that slogan, they had all been enjoying the melody of “Death to the King.”
As they say, “What goes around comes around.” And the angry professor Marandi should start getting used to what Trump or any other American leader might say. He should also know that to the ears of tens of millions of Iranians Trump’s words sound greater than any melody they have heard, in the past 40 years.
Professor Marandi says “Iranians constantly say we don’t want war.”
“Iranians” are bad liars. “Iranians” believe in permanent wars. “Iranians” provoked Saddam into a war that they kept going for 8 long years. They have been trying unsuccessfully to provoke the United States of America into a war for the past 40 years. They have been trying unsuccessfully to provoke Israel into a war in order to wipe it off the face of the earth. They have been trying unsuccessfully to provoke their other Arab neighbors into wars. They want to “liberate” Jerusalem. They want to export their revolution to the rest of the world. They have committed many acts of terrorism on foreign soil. Their greatest acts of war have been on millions of Iranians living in diaspora, Iran’s ethnic minorities and religious groups.
So, by just saying “we don’t want war” they cannot erase their atrocities of the past 40 years from history books.
Hey North,
I just listened to the historian. I bet you have already opened the first bottle of champagne.
I won't pop it until the total and unconditional removal of stinky IRI... however if contrary to what the advocates of the "coming war" claim, it resulted in a yet stronger mullahcratic regime in Iran, then I will know what to do with that bottle
Whatever happened to peacful regime changes that used to take place, like the one in '79? Has the monster that was created gotten too outta hand to afford that?
